Fundraising Guidelines (as discussed in Meeting Minutes)

Money fundraised through public and community funds are deposited into the Celtic Spirit Dancer Ireland 2012 bank account. This money is accounted for and can be found on the Dancers Only webpage. In addition, this money is raised through the volunteer efforts of all parents and dancers who, as of the date of the actual fundraiser, intend on travelling to Ireland in 2012. This money will be distributed 90 days prior to travel AND to those dancers who have paid and confirmed in full their travel. This means that if someone volunteers in fundraisers but subsequently backs out of the trip, they do not receive a portion of the fundraising efforts. Money collected will go to the actual dancers who are going to Ireland. It also means that money in this account is equally divided to those dancers going to Ireland... it will not be divided based on those who participated in the particular fundraiser. It is assumed (and has proven true to date) that over the 2 year fundraising period, everyone will do an equal share and help. Volunteer help, for this Community fundraising account, was and is not to be self serving but rather to help the goal and objective of the group to reach Ireland with the understanding that fundraising for the entire group means more dancers can go keeping individual cost of the trip down.
Any self serving fundraising, which would include (as examples only) individual Recycling accounts, money from relatives for a specific dancer and/or hired work, will not be discussed as a group. Parents who raise their own individual funds will be responsible for all aspects of that money including any liability to an individual, group or organization that presumes their money is going to a dancer who will be travelling to Ireland but subsequently backs out of the trip. Celtic Spirit Dancers will not account, record or distribute this money and will not assume any tax or legal liability for it- it will solely be the responsibility of the parent/dancer to be fully responsible for this.
*Note*: Individuals who choose to raise their own money and neglect the group fundraisers may  have a negative impact within the group, especially if it impacts or competes with the group fundraisers. Those who are considering both types of fundraising can keep their individual efforts to themselves. Please keep in mind that for many, time does not permit to do both types of fundraising in which case contributing to the group fundraisers is to be commended. Likewise for others, the expense (as in the case of several members of the same family planning to go) means exploring all and any options available to them for funding & should not be discouraged.

Fundraising Activities Ongoing Until Departure

 1. E-magazine
Order or renew a magazine subscription and 37% of the profits go to Celtic Spirit Dancers Ireland fund. This is an easy, no paper, no money handling fundraiser. Simply send the link to family and friends worldwide or encourage businesses like schools and doctors/dentist offices who purchase a large quantity of magazines to participate.

2. Recycling.  Bring your recyclables to Green Depot, GFW and deposit into the Celtic Spirit Dancers account. The account is active as of June 28 and will remain so until departure. Tell all your friends and family as well!! The account is provincial so if you have relatives living elsewhere in the province they too can donate their recycleables at any Scotia Recycling Depot. Just remember to tell them the group name!
3. *NEW* Water. Get your water bottles filled at Grand Falls Drug Store, High St., GFW, and $0.25 from each bottle will be donated to Celtic Spirit Dancers Ireland Account. It can't get any easier than that so tell all your family & friends.
